Crime and Punishment tells the story of Raskolnikov, an impoverished student, who determines to kill a pawnbroker whom he detests. He executes this plan, and much plot ensues.

This novel is the first book that Dostoevsky wrote after his exile in Siberia, and it is widely considered one of the greatest novels of all time, in all of world literature.
